Sheryl Ubben, Dike and Greg Dirks, Reinbeck, announce their approaching marriage.
A two car head-on collision in Hudson resulted in the deaths of Darwin & Jennie Sweazey of Waterloo and Donald Stavely of Traer. Jeannie Sweazy, 14 years old daughter of the deceased couple, was transferred to University of Iowa Hospital where surgery was performed on her left leg which was fixed in several places.
Karen Larsen, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Dallas Larsen, submitted to surgery for a ruptured ligament and chipped knee bone sustained in a basketball game.
Funeral services were held for Donald Stavely, 43, Traer, who was killed in a two car accident near Hudson on Jan. 18.
Darla Henricks, Reinbeck & Jerry Huisman, Grundy Center, were married on Jan. 14.
Connie Brandt, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Dale Brandt, announced her upcoming marriage to David Caughron of Terrell, Texas.

Workman began cutting down the many diseased elm trees in Reinbeck.
Mrs. Hilda Davidson, formerly of Reinbeck, was killed in a traffic accident Jan. 21. She was a pedestrian crossing a Waterloo street.
Linda Stoakes was named Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow at Reinbeck High School.
Airman Steven Rhoades completed basic training at Amarillo AFB in Texas.
Mary K. Simpson & Allen Hockemeyer were married Jan. 12.
Iowa Savings Bank doubles capital stock at $250,000.
