Brent Steffen, 15, Reinbeck, sustained a broken right leg and fractured wrist when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car driven by Leota Maple, 71, Gladbrook. Kip Monk, 15, also of Reinbeck, sustained a leg injury.

Three men Harold Bowers, 52, Reinbeck, Wayne Schmidt 18, State Center, and Larry K Morrison, 20, Traer, were killed on August 27 east of Reinbeck at Hwy 58 and 63 intersection.

George Ingols, 75, died August 30 of a stroke.

S/Sgt. & Mrs. Jim Bowman are parents of a daughter born August 21 in Berlin, Germany.

Darlene Arnold, formerly of Reinbeck, & Donald F. Sowar of Ohio were married on August 12.
