Shirley Billerbeck received a vase for winning “Novice of the Year” at the l986 Cattle Congress for her flower arrangements.

A counter law suit has been filed in Grundy Co. District Court by a Grundy Center bank against a farm couple who earlier had sued the bank charging that suit in an alleged “sham & form extortion” in an attempt to avoid payment of $340,662. The defendants are Geraldine DeVries and her husband Eldon as well as her 5 children by a previous marriage.
