There were no public comments Monday morning on a plan which will result in combining a pair of Tama County general obligation bond issues, a part of termed a refunding loan agreement. The remaining amount due on the original $7 million in bonds issued in 2013 to pay for road improvements is planned to be combined with a new issuance totaling$4.7 million for 911 communication system bonds. The county is limited to a $10 million ceiling in bonding capability for the measure and this will result in a portion of the radio system bonds to be apart from the financing plan. A resolution was approved on a 3-0 roll call vote of the supervisors which approves the measures and provides for a levy which will produce $353,265 to pay principal and interest prior to the beginning of the July 1, 2020 fiscal year. A hearing on the radio bonds is scheduled for April 6. mechanism In other business Monday the supervisors: •approved on 3-0 voice vote an agreement to allow purchase of a 1.5 acre tract of former railroad line property in Oneida Township by Chris Behrens. A total of $2,851 in back interest and taxes on the property is due dating back over 33 years according to Treasurer Michelle Yuska. Behrens offered to pay $100 for the property and to assume legal fees. A subsequent action will be necessary to finalize the action, supervisors siad. •signed a utility permit for Grundy REC in Carroll township. •took part on a telephone work session with Moody’s on bond rating. •gave Tama County approval for the merger of Region 6 and Region 10 Iowa Workforce Investment boards. •approved claims for the past two weeks totaling $616,005
