Message From Our Mayor
Is it cold enough to suit you? I’m never ready for it to get cold. First off, we have some great news here in Gladbrook. Tandi Davis and her husband along with some investors have purchased the Hometown Foods grocery store! With Tandi’s experience of managing the store for the last several years, we can count on it being a very excellent asset to our community. Thank you Tandi for believing in Gladbrook as a great place to live and raise your family. Let’s all get behind her and support this local business. More good news – Dan Hatch has purchased the S.L. Baumeier property on the south side of town to expand his business. Dan is a local guy who now lives in Dysart and is in the construction business. We use Dan and his crew here in town when we need help with water leaks. He and his crew are fast and thorough. We welcome the Hatch crew to Gladbrook and thank you for choosing Gladbrook as a place to expand your business. The new water meters are going in starting this week. Please have the area around your old meter clear for easy access. As most of you know we have a city election coming up the same time as the general election in November. I will be running again for Mayor of our town. My wife says I need to list some of my qualifications for the job – so here goes. I have lived in the Gladbrook area for the last 67 years and am married to Jo Anne who was born and raised here. We both graduated from Gladbrook Community High School. My advanced education comes from experience and willingness to serve. I got my start as a Gladbrook JC where I served as President, Treasurer, District State Director and earned the highest award possible as a JC that of being a JC International Senator. I served as a MidIowa Coop Board Director for 6 years and currently on the Tama County Pork Producer Board for 20+ years. I have also served 12 years on the Gladbrook School Board and 4 years on the GR School Board, a Tama County Supervisor for 8 years and currently serve on the Trustee Board of the Gladbrook United Methodist Church where I have been a member for 63 years. I am also a member of the Gladbrook Lions Club and the Gladbrook Commercial Club and have served on the Gladbrook Corn Carnival Board for the past 25 years. I have been the Mayor of Gladbrook for the past 10 years. I am also a founding member of Gladbrook Investment which has increased the tax valuation of Gladbrook by over $4 million. I also serve on the 911 Commission Board, Tama County Economic Development, Tama County Public Health, Tama County Condemnation Board and the Tama County Board of Adjustment. Jo and I have live here in town for the last 15 years and on the farm between Gladbrook and Traer for 40 years where we raised our three kids and where Craig and Autumn and kids now live. We both enjoy living and serving in our town. I would appreciate your vote and support for Mayor and allow me the opportunity to continue leading all of us in keeping Gladbrook a great place to live and grow our families.
Thank you! Keith Sash, Mayor
