Tama County Road E36 from Clutier eastward to Iowa Highway 21 will be resurfaced next year at a cost of $1,677,914. On the recommendation of County Engineer Lyle Brehm supervisors awarded the contractor to the low bidder, Manatts Inc., Brooklyn, on a 3-0 voice vote on Monday, Oct. 7. Farm-to-market road funds will pay for work. Brehm said he expects the project to be completed during the summer of 2020. The contract allows for 40 working days to be finished. Brehm said the work covers about six miles. Road improvement bids are submitted to the Iowa Department of transportation in Ames. Also on Monday the supervisors: •approved the quarterly report of Sheriff Dennis Kucera showing $83,567 in receipts. The amount includes a total of $52,768 from law enforcement contracts; fees due county $10,376; miscellaneous $9,117; task force wages, overtime, etc $4,675; permits to carry concealed weapons $1,980; permits to purchase firearms $240, accident reports $155; and tobacco compliance $150. •approved weekly claims totaling $144,521.
