Auxiliary Poppy Days
For 99 years, the American Legion Auxiliary has sponsored Poppy Days to remind America that millions have sacrificed their lives and health to keep our nation strong and free. Members of the Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary distributed poppies in Gladbrook and Lincoln on Wed., May 8th. This is their favorite project of the year as all the proceeds go to help veterans and their families. The Juniors raised over $500. The girls were treated to a walking taco supper hosted by Auxiliary member Trudi Scott. Juniors helping were: Front Row: (l-r) Kenzie Bartel, Brayla Davis, Bryleigh Bartel, Alaney Sienknecht and Ashton. Back Row: Stella Betts, Kayla Vavroch, Adelyn Sienknecht, Maya Goos, and Sydney Vavroch. Seniors helping were Kathy Vavroch, Barb Bereczki, Candice Bartel, Tandi Davis, Melissa Sienknecht, Jeanne Paustian and Poppy Chairman Jodi Betts. We would like to thank everyone who donated. Please wear your poppies on Memorial Day weekend.
