Tama County District Court Before Chief Judge Patrick R. Grady in Tama County District Court in Toledo: Bradley Richard Grimes, 48, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but seven days suspended and credited for time already served, fined and assessed court costs totaling $2,641 and placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Grimes was charged on Dec. 24, 2018, in the 3200 block of L Avenue, rural Tama by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quandt. Shannon Lee Grimes, 46, rural Tama, pleaded guilty to the amended charge of disorderly conduct. She was granted a deferred judgment, was a assessed a civil penalty and court costs totaling $225 and placed on self-supervised probation for one year and directed to pay the probation enrollment fee. Grimes was originally charged on Dec. 24,2018, in the 3700 block of l Avenue, rural Tama, with 1st offense domestic abuse assault injury or mental illness. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quandt.

Before District Associate Judge Nicholas Scott: Vickie L. Huffman, 36, Clutier, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury- domestic abuse. She received a deferred judgment, was assessed a civil penalty and court costs totaling $575 and was placed on unsupervised probation. She was directed to successfully complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program and pay costs of it. Huffman was charged Jan. 15 in the 300 block of 3rd Street, Clutier, for grabbing the victim around the neck and striking the victim the side of the head. Tama County Deputy Sheriff Casey Schmidt filed the charge. Gerrod Ray Lurvey,, and Michelle Lynn Lurvey, 38, Belle Plaine, pleaded guilty to credit card fraud. She received a 180-day jail term and $625 fine of which both were suspended. Both defendants were placed on self-supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services, directed to pay the $300 supervision fee, and ordered to pay $109 restitution to each to Miguel Manuel Antonio, Tama. Both Lurveys requested a hearing concerning the remainder of restitution sought by the victim. The hearing for Michelle Lurvey was set for May 2 but later continued because her attorney was unavailable. Gerrod Lurvey’s hearing on the additional restitution request remained set for May 2. The charges were filed on Feb. 13 after investigation found unauthorized credit card purchases had been made to Casey’s General Store, Pizza Hut and Wish.com. Tama Police Officer Cooper Coffman filed the charge. Joshua R. Kinnaman, 37, Tama, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but seven days suspended, fined and assessed court costs totaling $625 and placed on self-supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services to which he is to pay a $300 supervision fee. He also must pay for and successfully complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. Kinnaman was originally charged on Jan. 26 in the 300 block of East 7th Street with 2nd offense domestic abuse assault by Tama Police Officer Tyler Ayala-Pagan. Madison Diane Kidd, 21, Stratford, Iowa,, admitted violation of terms of probation. She was fined and assessed court costs totaling $781, placed on supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay a $300 supervision fee. A 365-day jail sentence was suspended. A self-supervised probation compliance check showed new law violations including two charges of 2nd degree theft and one count of 4th degree theft and Kidd owed $300 probation fee and $495 for a civil penalty and court costs. Kidd had received a deferred judgment in Tama County District Court on May 3, 2018, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Before Judge Kevin McKeever: Tammy Lynn Quigley, 39, Tama, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but two days suspended, fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,828 and was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services, Her driver’s license was revoked or two years and she was directed to complete the drinking drivers course at Kirkwood Community College. Quigley was charged on Feb. 21 in the 1200 block of State Street, Tama, by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe. Devin Michael LaGrone, 18, Marshalltown, entered a written guilty plea to two counts of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed civil penalties and court costs totaling $824 on the two charges, was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for one year and directed to pay the enrollment fee. LaGrone was originally charged on Oct. 23, 2018, with 2nd degree harassment in the 500 block of East 5th Street by Tama Police Officer Tyler Ayala-Pagan. Charges of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness were added in a County Attorney’s information filed on Dec. 11, 2018. Felix Francisco Ramirez-Murillo, 27, Toledo ,entered a written guilty plea to driving while barred. He was sentenced to a suspended 90-day jail sentence and fiend an assessed court costs totaling $959. He was directed to pay any victim restitution and was placed on unsupervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for one year. Ramirez-Murillo was charged on March 23 on Harding Street by Tama Police Officer Jake Kessler. Brandon Albert Thompson, 19, Tama, entered a written guilty plea to 4th degree theft. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days already served and directed to be released from custody. He fined and assessed court costs totaling. Thompson was charged on March 21, after allegedly taking a back pack belonging to another from the Tama Skate Park, McClellan and 9th Street. It contained “vape juice” equipment and other items with a total value set at $470. The charge was filed by Tama Police Officer Tyler Ayala-Pagan. He was also found to be in contempt of court for violation of terms of probation to charges of 2nd degree theft and 4th degree theft. He was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail with credit for time served and directed to be released. Thompson was orginally placed on probation and judgment deferred for three 3rd degree burglary charges in October of 2018. Kendra Savage, 18, Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court. She was sentenced to serve two days in jail with credit for any time previously served and directed to remain on probation. Savage was cited in a probation violation report for being charged with possession of methampehtamine in Marshall County on Jan. 26 and failing to pay a balance totaling $445 on previous court assessments. She originally pleaded guilty to 5th degree theft for unauthorized use of a credit card on Sept. 24, 2018. Douglas Edward Cadotte, 45, rural Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation. He was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail and is to be discharged from probation upon completion of the sentence. He was cited in a probation violation report for entering a restricted area at a residential treatment facility March 31 and for assaulting another resident. Cadotte was originally sentenced on Dec. 6, 2018, on a charge of driving while barred filed by Toledo Police. Stacy Leigh Rook, 48, Cedar Rapids, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court. Her probation was amended to include the requirement of successfully completing programming at the Anchor Center in Cedar Rapids and to reside there for up to 365 days. Rook was cited in a probation violation report for testing positive for methamphetamine use on two occasions, failing to come to the probation office for random dug testing also on two occasions, failing to serve a contempt sentence and failing to pay for a requested drug test. Rook had orginally received a deferred judgment on Feb. 12, 2015,on a charge of possession of a pseudoephedrine as a precursor, intent to manufacture, sell, distribute and or make available pseudoephedrine with intent to use as a precursor. Rene Allen Webb, 23, rural Garwin, admitted violation of terms of probation and the original order was modified to extend probation for one year. He was directed to be returned to a residential correctional facility and to reside there for up to 365 days. Webb was cited in a probation violation report for being charged in Marshall County on Dec. 9, 2018, for possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense. He was originally sentenced in Tama County District Court to a suspended prison term on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and placed on probation for two years on May 18, 2018.
