Before Judge Mitchell E. Turner in Tama County District Court in Toledo:


Sara Jean Evans 30, Traer,, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but seven days suspended and credited for seven days already served, fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,870 and placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Charges of carrying weapons and child endangerment were dismissed in a plea agreement. Evans was charged on May 28 in the 400 block of 4th Street, Clutier. She was accused of being in possession of a large machete with a blade over eight inches long, having custody of a minor child and being under the influence of drugs while operating a motor vehicle. The charges were filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quandt. Decon Robert Fonua, 31, rural Toledo, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but wo days suspended, credited for any time already serve, fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,798 and placed on supervised probation for one year to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. He was directed to pay the probation supervision enrollment fee and to complete a course for drinking drivers. Fonua was originally charged with 2nd offense drunken driving on Aug. 19 in the 1900 block of 340th Street, rural Tama, when he was accused of being believed to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a personal injury accident. the charge was field by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Mike Wright. Mark Allen Morris Sr., 51, Toledo, entered a written guilty plea to charges of domestic abuse assault and domestic abuse assault- strangulation. He was sentenced to suspended two-year sentences. He was placed on supervised probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services and is to pay the enrollment fee. Fines of $625 on each charge were suspended with court costs of $254 assessed. Morris was charged on July 27 in the 500 block of South Willow Street for allegedly striking a victim by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe. Lester Tobias Lasley, 42, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to public intoxication, 3rd or subsequent offense. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for any time served and assessed a fine and court costs totaling $944. Lasley was charged on July 22 at 13th street and Sesame Drive by Tama Police Officer Brandon Boldt. Steward A. Howse, 35, East Cleveland. Ohio, entered a written guilty plea to possession of marijuana. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $660. Howse was charge on July 7 by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Shawncey Day.


Before District Associate Judge Nicholas Scott: Loren D. Johnson Jr., 37, rural Tama, pleaded guilty to 5th degree theft. He was fined and assessed a total of $188 in fine and court costs and ordered to pay $89 restitution. Johnson was originally charged with 4th degree theft for allegedly taking the cell phone of another at the Tama-Toledo Family Aquatic Center on July 19. He was accused of later disposing other telephone in mens room toilet. The charge was field by Toledo Police Officer Nathan Wunn. Tama County Magistrate Court

Austyn William Phinney, 23, rural Toledo, through his attorney admitted being in contempt of court by incurring additional motor vehicle violations. To serve 10 days of previously suspended sentence concurrently with a district court sentence on a charge of drunken driving.
