Gladbrook Area Crop Walk By Margaret Thomsen

Crop Walk Dogs Not dogs to be left out, these four dogs accompanied the annual Gladbrook Area Crop walkers. It was a lovely occasion to get out and show support for collecting funds for Church World Services. Pictured are Jordan Sherman with Karly; Kloie Hendricks with Boston; Emma McClintock with Jax’ and Madisyn Eggers walking Emma’s other dog, Remy.

The annual Gladbrook Area Crop Walk was held on October 7. Walkers met at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church and enjoyed a rather misty walk around Gladbrook. Churches involved included Chapel United Methodist Church, Gladbrook United Methodist Church, Salem Church of Lincoln and Peace United Church of Christ. Funds that are collected go to Church World Services. They help people in third world countries get water to their villages, provide seeds and helping to plant gardens and fields. Getting a source of food to these destitute families is vary important. Becky Fish and Kay Lowrey served a hot dog lunch to the walkers. Final total of money collected is not in, but estimates are over $1,000. Walkers pictured in the back row included Linda Goos, Kayla Vavroch, Barb DeWitt, Lisa Reinhard, Rev. Paul Knupp, Scott Vavroch, Rev Mark Keefer, Darrell Paustian and Rev. Gideon Gallo. Middle row includes Jhona Gallo, Kathy Vavroch, Kloie Hendricks, Stella Betts, Jordan Sherman, Lori Sanderson, Jeanne Paustian and Rev. Barb Muchs. In the front row are Joshua Gallo, Ruth Gallo, Adelyn Sienknecht, Madisyn Eggers, Alaney Sienknecht, Emma McClintoch, Sydney Vavroch, Jackie Sherman and Jasmin Terven.
