Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary

The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary met on Sun., Sept. 30th for their family kick-off supper at the Memorial Building. The Junior Auxiliary new leaders Melissa Sienknecht, Kathy Vavroch, and Jodi Betts introduced themselves and had everyone present tell their name and something special about themselves. Kathy gave the dinner prayer. After the meal, the Juniors made very colorful fall owl favors for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. The Juniors will be collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. They will pack shoeboxes at their meeting on Oct. 20st. The items collected must fit inside a shoebox for girls or boys ages 2-14. If anyone would like to donate drop items off at Peace Church. The Juniors guessed how many pieces of candy were in two jars and the lucky winners were Jordan Sherman and Ellasyn Faris. Auxiliary members, Jeanne Paustian, Jodi Betts, Cynthia Eggers, Kathy Vavroch, Jackie Sherman, and Melissa Sienknecht, conducted the initiation ceremony so all the Juniors could renew their vows in the Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary. There were five members present for their first initiation service: Ellasyn & Emersen Faris, Bryleigh & Kenzie Batel, and Leah Svendsen. They received their JR pins donated by Nicole Clapp, National American Legion Auxiliary V-P. Every Junior picked out a prize as their name was drawn as a thank you gift for all they do throughout the year. The Juniors will meet on Sat., Oct. 20st, 9:30 at Westbrook Acres. The Juniors will be making favors for the Iowa Veterans Home. Hostesses are Shanna Goos and Karen Eggers.
