2018 Gladbrook High School Alumni Banquet

The 2018 Gladbrook High School Alumni Banquet was held at the Amvet Hall in Lincoln on September 1. Trudi Scott welcomed guests and alumni.
Tandi Davis and STaff from Hometown Foods prepared the side dishes and Spanky’s Resturant prepared the meat. The food was served by theWolfe Creek Whirlwinds 4-H Club.
Geri Caseboldt Eilers represented the Gladbrook Community Foundation. Lisa Gilchrist Reinhard explained that the last of the missing class composites have been replaced. She said a huge thanks is owed to former Principal Mrs. Louise Giles as she had kept every year book and even had notes attached by students. These were used in creating the missing class composites.
The Mark Lynch Family was thanked for their part in paying for the composites. Mark was a graduate of Gladbrook High School in the Class of 1960.
Oldest graduate was Doris Mohr Sievers Allen from the Class of 1939. The Class of 1941 was represented by August Hauschildt and Doris Lynch Tessau.

The event was in conjunction with the 2018 Gladbrook High School Alumni Banquet. This is most likely the last time that the flag will be raised to fly over the Gladbrook Campus. Plans are to tear down part or all of the building. A number of Gladbrook High School graduates assembled behind the ladies to pay their respects to the facility. And to say a fond farewell to the building and all the wonderful memories.
Mary Lee Engle Goos from the Class of 1943 traveled the farthest as she came from Narragansett,Rhode Island. That’s 1250 miles one way.
Former faculty member Chuck Wickersham spoke briefly about his 27 years teaching at Gladbrook High School. He related about the time that he and other staff members put Home Ec teacher, Diane Kroeger’s, Volkswagen in the upstairs hall. And those poor FFA boys took the hit!
The families with the most members present were recognized, but no time was allowed for photos.
The Committee for the 2018 Banquet included: Trudi Scott, Sheri Denbow, Lisa Reinhard, Darby Lynch, Susan Beichley, Paul Koester, Sheryl Clark, Susan Wegner, Sheresa Lynch, Sheleen Hatch, David Buskhol and Geri Eihlers.
