Let’s Go Bowling

Roger and Stacie Taylor, of Marshalltown, have purchased the Gladbrook Bowl from Ron and Holly Dudley of Gladbrook who have owned and operated the business for the past 21 years.
Ron and Stacie are originally from southern California. They were both on the same Junior League 40 years ago, Ron jokingly says, “I never wanted her on my team at that time, just didn’t think she would be good enough.” After meeting up again on Facebook a few years ago, they became husband and wife and a powerful team.
Ron has been in the bowling game for many years after traveling from southern California to Arizona and dealing Blackjack. His travels took him to Muscatine, Iowa, then he came to Marshalltown and managed the Totem Bowl there for 16 years. Ron has also served as the bowling coach for the Marshalltown Bobcat Bowling Team for the past 10 years.
The opportunity to buy the Gladbrook Bowl from the Dudleys presented itself 4 or 5 months ago and with the help some backers it became a reality for Roger and Stacie to own their own bowling alley.
Roger and Stacie brought back leagues that are already underway at the Gladbrook Bowl, Business Men’s League on Tuesday nights has already began, Gutter Cutters, on Wednesday evenings starts September 5, Men’s Match Point begins September 6, Senior Social(age 50 +0 begins September 14, Kings & Queens, starts September 7, beginning Sunday, September 16, Every Other Sunday Fun & Games, and Farmers & Friends begins November 26.
Youth Bowling is Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. and noon, with three divisions, Bumpers, Preps, and Majors, with the new season starting September 8. If you are interested in joining a league or subbing on one please contact Ron or Stacie at the Gladbrook Bowl & Diner.
As for the Diner, Ron and Stacie have brought back a fan favorite, “The Bowl Burger” and added “The Dudley” in honor of Ron Dudley’s favorite sandwich, the patty-melt.
In keeping with the 8-lane Gladbrook Bowl theme, the will have $8.00 specials, 8 different flavors of ice cream, 8 speciality burgers and will be open for lunch, brunch,and dinner.
Ron and Stacie are looking forward to serving the community by offering great customer service, a clean and safe environment, and will value all of their customers.
