Day care Expansion Request $180,000
As I said in an earlier editorial, the city must take care of its needs (including legal obligations) before it addresses its wants and gives away money, even if that money has been donated.
Fire, EMS, library, police, city hall, etc. departments all suffered a 5-10% cut in their budgets this year to make city expenditures meet revenues.
As you review the numbers above, ask yourself where this money is going to come from.
Even IF the day care generated more tax dollars to the city, it would not come close to
meeting the city’s needs. In short, our city must keep every dollar and shrink expenditures
even more plus find ways to generate the necessary funds to operate.
Talk to your council members and have them rescind the vote to give away our city’s precious dollars.
