Secondhand on 2nd Street opens for business By Betty Dahms

Eva Lindley, of Gladbrook, has opened a secondhand store, rightly named Secondhand of 2nd Street. The business is located at 418 2nd Street in the DeWitt Building, next to Spanky’s Restaurant. Eva has gathered, as she calls it, “useful and desirable secondhand items” at a reasonable price. Eva likes to shop around and handpick the items she will sell. She shops garage sales, stock stores, and at local auctions. Eva likes to buy local and in Iowa for affordable nice items. The store offers decorative items, kitchen supplies, dishes, small appliances, lamps, paintings, and some toys. Eva hopes her new business is successful, to help Gladbrook with another business and for customers to have a chance to shop local for items they need. Secondhand on 2nd Street will officially open for business on Friday, March 31 and will be open Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Regular shop hours have not been set.
