The GMG Senior and 9th Individual Speech Teams are headed to contest this weekend with 36 entries. Improv entries include: Jevan Stokely, Chase Deam, Wes Steiner and Ethan Karsjen. Spontaneous speakers include: Hallie Claussen, Jevan Stokely and Christian Deam. Storytelling individuals are Kayla Vavroch, Tabitha Kauten, Daniel Hughes and Kyla Krier. Talia Trumbo is the only entry in Solo Musical Theatre. Christian Deam, Jackson Edens and Kyla Wilkening have written an Original Oratory. Poetry seems to float down the halls as Parker Welton, Hallie Claussen, Jasmine Deal, Jackson Edens, Haley Stahl and Tabitha Kauten practice. Prose entries vary from dramatic to hilarious. Entered in Prose are: Lindsey Slifer, Grace Schewe, Haley Stahl, Wes Steiner, Tabitha Kauten and Connor Casto. The Radio News entries will be given a packet of information and 30 minutes to prepare a four to five minute live Radio News. Entered in that category are: Lindsey Slifer, Megan Kohn, Parker Welton, Ethan Karsjen and Chase Deam. Kayla Vavroch is preparing an Expository. She will inform about Geese Banding. Acting entries include Connor Casto, Kyla Krier and Daniel Hughes. We thank all the parents and families who travel to contest to support our endeavors. We will perform at the Iowa Star Conference Speech Festival on February 22. District Contest is at newton high School on February 25.
