The Tama County Board of Supervisors met Monday morning with the main discussion on the recommendation from the Tama County Compensation Board given the end of December. After more discussion Supervisor Vest made a motion to reduce the recommendation for supervisors to a one and one-half (1 1/2) per cent increase and for all other elected officials two and one half (2 1/2) percent increase. All voted aye. Lyle Brehm, County Engineer, told supervisors rural roads were soft when normally this time of year they are frozen. Brehm says they are hauling some rock mostly for entries to hard surfaced road. Last week quarterly reports for the auditor and sheriff were approved by phone. Copies of the reports were furnished this week with the County Auditor report showing collections for maps and plat books, (GIS shapefiles) at $643.50, Miscellaneous at $67.56 for a total collected of $711.06. The County Sheriff s report showed a beginning balance of $8483.77 and receipts of $80,621.33. Disbursements were in the amount of $81,392.43 leaving a balance on hand of $7712.67. The County Treasurer’s Semi-Annual report shows the net amount in banks of $15,535,586.26, Interest in transit in t he amount of $5096.08, Deposit in transit $103,691.40 , Treasurer outstanding warrants for $10,553.80 , cash on hand in the amount of $35,858.50 making a total of $15,659,486.28 and auditor outstanding warrants in the amount of $126,486.06, making a grand total of $15,785,972.34. Claims in the amount of $67,822.86 were approved for payment.
