Tama County Sheriff Dennis Kucera’s Quarterly report was approved Monday morning, October 17, at the regular meeting the Tama County Board of Supervisors. Kendall Jordan, Dan Anderson and Larry Vest. The report shows a beginning balance of $5659.34 with receipts showing mileage due county $4597.71, Feeds due county $7028.39, Accident reports $118.50, Law Enforcement contracts $50,069.09, Permit to carry $4280.00, Permit to purchase $180.00, Restitution $4.45, Miscellaneous $3213.17, Tobacco Compliance $50.00, Task Force/Wage/O”T/etc $2833.73, SW Mobile/Net Motion $8460.00, the total due the County Treasurer of $80,835.04, Garnished Funds $22,668.80, Miscellaneous including gun permits to state $1481.31 and Refund of Sheriff’s fees $104.00 for total receipts of $105,089.15. Disbursements include Mileage due county $4597.71, Fees due county $7028.39, Accident Reports $118.50, Law Enforcement contracts $50,069.09, Permit to Carry $4280.00, Permit to Purchase $180.00, Restitution $4.45, Miscellaneous $3213.17, Tobacco Compliance $50.00, Task Force/wage/OT/etc. $2833.73. SW Mobile /netmotion $8460.00 with total reimbursements of $102,264.72 making the total balance on hand the end of September of $8483.77. County Treasurer Michelle Yuska was present requesting abatement on a Mobile Home owned by Stewart and Marie Warren. This was a 1974 Buddy Mobile Home parked in the Gossard Mobile Home Park (Lot 17) Garwin. The Warrens moved in 2010 and the trailer was destroyed in a windstorm in 2011. Gossard demolished the trailer in 2016. Yuska says $1520.00 in taxes were collelcted for 2005 through 2010. The property currently has a County held Tax Sale Certificate for tax years 2011 and 2012 and unpaid taxes for 2013 through 2017. Tax amounts from 2011 through 2017 equal $148.00 times 7 years for a total of $1036.00. Tax amount due with costs and interest is $1782.00. The vote was unanimous to grant the tax abatement. Alliant Energy had an utility permit in Toledo Township approved. Claims for t he past week came to $391,838.49.
