GMG wins Homecoming Game GMG 58, Colfax-Mingo 40

The GMG Dance Team wowed the coronation crowd with their dance. They will be performing at State Dance Team contest in early December. They are directed by Mrs. Angie Claassen.
GMG Homecoming Junior Court included: Football Toter: Parker Thurston - son of Casey Thurston; Tiara Bearer: Maci Lang - daughter of Amanda Weeks and Jeff Lang; and Crown Bearer: Sean Tracy - son of Justin and Sandra Tracy.

GARWIN – The GMG football team had three 100-yard rushers en route to its first Homecoming win since 2005, a 58-40 slugfest victory against Colfax-Mingo in Class A District 5 play.

Brock Baldazo carried 17 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns to lead the GMG ground attack. Cade Bovenmyer had 116 yards on 10 carries, including a 50-yard TD dash, and Darrin Anderson ran for 105 yards on 18 attempts with touchdown runs of 7 and 25 yards as the Warriors racked up 435 yards of rushing offense.

Quarterback Garrett Groth ran for another 62 yards and a touchdown and also connected with Blaze Krull for an 18-yard scoring pass in the second quarter, but the Wolverines went into halftime facing a 40-30 deficit. GMG (2-5, 1-4) outscored the TigerHawks (1-6, 1-4) 28-0 in the second half to snap a four-game skid. Isaac Neel and Krull both had an interception while Conner Stonewall led the defense with four tackles.
