Before Judge Christopher L. Burns in Tama County District Court in Toledo:


Victor Manuel Jauregui, 30, Waterloo, was sentenced to 10 days in jail on a previous contempt of court charge. In 2012, Jauregui agreed to make $75 monthly payments to cover a fine, court costs and restitution totaling $3,582 in connection with a drunken driving conviction. Records showed he had made no payments and, as a result, Tama County Attorney Brent Heeren filed an application for contempt of court. Jauregui told the court he was unable to make the payments during the period and had been homeless much of the time. However he said he was now able to make the payments. Jauregui was again directed to pay $75 monthly but will again be brought before the court if he becomes more than 30 days delinquent in the payments. The original drunken driving charge was filed on June 18, 2009, by Toledo Police. Craig Deon Chaseinwinter, 39, rural Tama, was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 30 days suspended with that term to be served in the Tama County Jail in Toledo. Chaseinwinter pleaded guilty to 3rd offense drunken driving. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $5,450 and placed on probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for three years. His driver’s license was revoked for six years. Chaseinwinter was charged on the 2900 block of F Avenue on March 27 following a motor vehicle accident. the charge was field by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Sean Gehring. Jermaine Claude Spencer, 32, Marshalltown, admitted violation of terms of probation and was found in contempt of court. He sentenced to 30 days in jail, given credit for 30 days served and had probation period extended for one year. Spencer was originally sentence to a suspended, five-year prison term after pleading guilty to 3rd degree burglary on Oct. 15, 2015. He was placed on probation for three years. A probation violation report showed Spencer was charged with trespassing in Marshall County on June 15 in violation of terms of his probation. Spencer was originally charged with burglary in October, 2104, near Montour by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police. Brent Joseph Williams, 47, Garwin, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. He received a deferred sentence, was placed on unsupervised probation and directed to pay a civil penalty and court costs totaling $630. Williams was originally charged on July 11 in a Meskwaki Casino Hotel room by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Jacob Molitor.
