Murphy Aaron Blackcloud, 32, rural Tama, entered an Alford plea to acharge of assault with intent to commit serious injury. An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt but recognizes enough evidence is likely available to obtain a conviction in a court of law. Blackcloud was sentenced to a suspended, two -year prison term and assessed fined and court Costs totaling $1,944. Blackcloud was placed on supervised probation for two years and directed to paya $300 supervisory enrollment fee. Blackcloud was originally charged on Dec. 31, 2015, with willful injury with serious injury by allegedly striking the victim causing facial fractures. The charge was field by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Dustin Blackburn. Three additional suspects were also named in a County Attorney’s information filed in connection with the case. Jason Randall Himschoot, 33, Traer, was found in contempt of court for failing to abide by terms of probation. he was sentenced to 60 days in jail but can avoid the contempt sentence by successfully completing one year of probation and completing the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. Himschoot is on probation for domestic abuse assault, 2nd offense – sentenced Feb. 20, 201and going armed with intent and burglary charges – sentenced on June 27, 2013.
