Pork Producers Send Eight FFA Members to Florida By Jake Hlas

On March 14th the Tama County Pork Producers sent eight local students to Florida to tour over 35 different forms of agriculture in the state. Among the students who went were Sally Howard and Jake Hlas from North Tama, Haley Shope, Anna Dvorak, and Josh Morgan from South Tama, Thomas and Madeline Mussig from GR, and Jadin Hennings from Union. During this trip, these FFA members saw agriculture that ranged from sugar cane farming to a 17,000 cow dairy. This trip was a once in a lifetime experience that will not soon be forgotten. Chaperoning this trip were Dennis and Doris Gienger, and Keith and Jo Anne Sash. This trip was funded by the Tama County Pork Producers and various other grants. The Pork Producers wish to continue this trip in future years. If there is any questions regarding attending this trip in the future, contact Doris Gienger at 641-750-3059.
