President Jeanne Paustian opened the program welcoming everyone to the tea on a cloudy, rainy, and cool spring day.

Bev Miller and Jodee Stoakes told about their new business the “Old Mill Road”. The store is located west of town in the location of the old “Country Cupboard”. They brought several items to show that they had refurbished. It was very interesting learning about their unique items and other products they are now selling.

The Memorial Service was conducted by Unit President Jeanne Paustian, Poppy Chairman Jodi Betts, and Chaplain Lisa Reinhard. During the service, hymns were sung led by pianist Sue Koster; prayers lifted up, and a poem on Faith read. The Unit lost three members since the last service. They were Edith Whannel, a 59 year member, Deb Denbow Weber, a 24 year member, and Jean Marquart, a 67 year member. A candle was lighted for the deceased, a poppy placed, and their family members were given a white carnation. Sue played TAPS.

The Unit had one Junior, Ashley Sieh, graduating. The Graduation Service was conducted for her by Jeanne, Jodi, Lisa, Linda Randolph, Ashley’s grandmother, and Presidents Jolene and Shirley. Ashley was presented a certificate, poppy, and her Auxiliary pin was pinned on her by Grandma Linda. She received her first year of membership into Senior membership as her gift from the Unit. We wish Ashley well as she pursues her career of becoming a Physician Assistant at the University of Iowa.
