The 2016 3rd District Jr. Auxiliary Conference was held on April 3rd, at the Conrad, Legion Hall.

Hailey Clemons, Conrad, was the President with the following officers: V-P Kayla Vavroch, Gladbrook, Secretary Ashlyn Moore, Gladbrook, Historian Madisyn Eggers, Gladbrook, Chaplain Justina Eggers, Gladbrook, Sgt-at-Arms Ali Clemons, Conrad, & Sydney Vavroch, Gladbrook.

Following a dinner served by the Conrad Auxiliary, the meeting was called to order by Parliamentarian Kelley Elliott. In the processional the Gladbrook flags were presented by Jordan Sherman and Kyla Moore, and District flags were presented by Maya Goos and Stella Betts. The POW flag was placed by Ali Clemons, and the Vacant Chair was read by Kayla Vavroch.

Juniors units answering roll call from 3rd District were Conrad, 5 Juniors, Denver, 2 Juniors, and Gladbrook, 13 Juniors. Total registration was 21 Juniors, 18 Seniors, 1 Legionnaire, and 5 guest for a total of 45. Adults attending from Gladbrook were Jeanne Paustian, Jr. Leader, Jodi Betts, Kay Lowry, and Kathy Vavroch.

Guests who brought greetings were Department Auxiliary President Tammy Wright, Swisher, Department Jr. President Constance Schlitter, Swisher, and 3rd District President Shirley Warnke.

The 2015-2016 officers are: President Kayla Vavroch, Gladbrook; V-P Justina Eggers, Gladbrook; Secretary Madisyn Eggers, Gladbrook; Chaplain, Deidra Green, Conrad; Historian Sydney Vavroch, Gladbrook; Sgt-at-Arms Stella Betts & Ashlyn Moore, both of Gladbrook.

President Hailey gave her President’s Report about her yearly activities. She told about her projects of collecting pop tabs, spending time with a veteran, and collecting colors, coloring books, and activity books for veterans children when they visit VA hospitals. The Gladbrook Juniors donated a lot of colors and books for her project.

Chaplain Justina Eggers presented a Books of Prayers and Inspirations she made to President Hailey and thanked the Juniors for the prayers and poems they submitted.

Historian Madisyn Eggers showed President Hailey the History Book she made. She also thanked everyone that submitted articles and pictures. She will finish Hailey’s book after the conference. Gladbrook presented a yearly report for the History Book.

A total of $53.28 was collected in the Pennies March with the proceeds going to President Hailey’s project. Pop-tabs were collected for the Ronald McDonald House totaling 34 3/4 lbs. Gladbrook submitted 18 lbs.

The following officers were elected for the 2016-2017 year: President Kayla Vavroch, Gladbrook; V-P Justina Eggers, Gladbrook; Secretary Madisyn Eggers, Gladbrook; Chaplain, Dedra Green, Conrad; Historian Sydney Vavroch, Gladbrook; Sgt-at-Arms Stella Betts & Ashlyn Moore, both of Gladbrook. They were installed by the 3rd District President Shirley Warnke.

President Hailey’s grandmother, Deb Clemons, pinned on her past president’s pin. Deb Clemons is Conrad’s Junior Leader.

Gladbrook will host the 2017 conference.

Contest results were announced. Gladbrook earned a first place finish in Best Scrapbook. Stella Betts & Justina Eggers won first place in their respective division for poppy corsages.

Gladbrook door prize winners were Jordan Sherman, Tatum Ridout, Ashlyn Moore, Maya Goos, Kyla Moore, Madisyn Eggers, and Maicy Moore.

For entertainment the Juniors enjoyed singing “Oh I Love America”.

V-P Kayla presented Hailey with a gift from her officers, which was a 2016 Willow Tree angel.

The conference ended with singing “God Bless America” and the retirement of colors.
