Tama County District Court Before Judge Robert E. Sosalla in Tama County District Court in Toledo: Sierra Ann Price, 21, Marshalltown, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. She was fined and assessed court costs totaling $575 and sentenced to 60 days in jail. Price was given credit for time already served and the balance of the sentence was suspended. She was also directed to pay $1,3034 restitution to Allison Dostal-Purk, Tama, for property damage to a 2005 Dodge Neon. Price was charged on Nov. 19, 2015, for allegedly hitting Dostal-Purk while she was driving the vehicle causing Dostal-Purk to lose control of the car and wreck it by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Sean Gehring. The incident occurred at in the 2000 block of Tama county Road E43. Jeffrey Paul Nickel, 52, Traer, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $978. Nickel was charged on Oct. 8, 2015, at U.S. Highway 63 and Woodlawn in Traer by Tama County Sheriff Dennis Kucera. Wesley Allen Harrison, 26, rural Toledo, pleaded guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to seven days in jail and assessed $1,798 fine and court costs. Harrison may successfully complete the Marshall County Alternatives to Incarceration Program within 150 days in lieu of serving the jail time. Harrison was charged on Dec. 10, 2015, at mile marker 212 on U.S. Highway 30 by Iowa State Trooper Matt Schwenn. Eric Ramon Lasley, 41, rural Tama, pleaded guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,828 and sentenced to 48 hours in jail. The jail sentence is to be served concurrently with a Marshall County sentence at the Marshalltown Residential Correctional Facility. Lasley was charged on Sept. 20, 2015, in the 200 block of Business Highway 30 West by Toledo Police Sgt. Dan Quigley. Pedro Perez-Solis, 22, homeless, pleaded guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. He was fined and assessed court costs in the amount of $2,018 and sentenced to serve 48 hours in the Linn county Jail, Cedar Rapids. He may serve the sentence in the the Alternatives to Incarceration Program with the approval of the Tama County Attorney and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Perez-Solis was charged on Nov. 1, 2015 at Business Highway 30 and Prospect drive by Toledo Police Sgt. Dan Quigley.
Before Judge Patrick R. Grady: James Henry Garske, 57, Montour, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for already having completed the Kirkwood weekend drinking driver’s program, and fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,798. One-half of the fine amount may be waived if proof of installation of an ignition interlock device is provided to the court. Garske was charged on Dec. 18, 2015, in the 1800 block of the U.S. Highway 30 Expressway by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joe Quandt.
