By Madeline Mussig The Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board held their regular monthly meeting on February 16, 2016 in the G-R Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. and followed with three visitors: Gaylord Tryon & Associates, Ray & Associates, and Grundmeyer Leader Search to discuss the superintendent search. After the presentations, the agenda and consent agenda was approved. In old business, board policies 2nd reading was approved. The Drop Out Prevention Application was also approved. Following a five minute recess, the 28E agreement with Grundy Center for agriculture was terminated, along with the 28E agreement with Eldora-New Providence for superintendent sharing. Options for the superintendent search were discussed on whether or not to share a superintendent or hire a firm. It was approved to hire Grundmeyer Leader Search if no neighboring school is interested in sharing. There was discussion on the calendar for 2016-17. A budget hearing has been set of April 13. Summer custodial held for 2016 was approved. VJ Engineering was approved for construction on the elementary parking lot. The board’s next regular meeting will take place on March 10, 2016 at 6:30 in the G-R Board Room. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
