Tama Co. Supervisors
By Joyce Wiese County Attorney Brent Heeren met with the Tama County Board of Supervisors Monday morning with a request to appoint a new Assistant County Attorney who will replace Patrick McMullen. McMullen has resigned, effective this month. Pamela K. Dettmann is the suggested replacement. Dettmann graduated from Drake University Law School in Des Moines and Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota with a Juris Doctorate degree. Dettmann did her undergraduate work at Northwestern College in Orange City , Iowa with a Major in Speech and Drama (secondary education endorsement), minor in English and Piano Performance Dettmann’s career experience includes Robberts & Kirkman, LLLP, as an Associate Attorney, caseload including court appointments in Judicial District 8B as contract attorney through State Public Defender as well as general civil practive, family law, probate, contract and real estate, April through December 2012. Des Moines County, Senior Assistant Attorney from July 2002 through July 2011. The caseload included all juvenile cases and a misdemeanor docket, also felony cases. Sac County Attorney, elected in November 94 and 98 and was unopposed in the 2002 election. She left prior to 2002 election to pursue full time prosecution in Des Moines County. This was a part time elected position at that time. She had a private practice in Sac Citry, Iowa, the caseload including family law, property transactions, probate, contracts and individual income tax preparation from July 1992-2002. Dettmann was a member of many profession associations and activities, and has been involved in community activities in the area she served. The board voted 3-0 to appoint Dettmann as Tama County Assistant County Attorney, effective January 28, 2016. Approval was given to accept the Tama County Recorder’s quarterly report ending December 31, 2015. This shows 279 recording deeds at $3300.00, 162 real estate mortgages at $7640.00, 42 affidavits at $470.00, 192 releases and assignments at$1150.00, 357 miscellaneous at $5694.40, RVVRs (2) at $1000.00, 3 Hunting and Fishing licenses writing fees at $676.75, 4 Real Estate Transfer stamps at $3942.11, 5 Auditor transfer fees at $1570.00, 6 Records Management Fees at $811.00, 14 Vital Statistic certified copies, 7 marriage and 7 certified copies at $648.00,. for a total collected of $26,907.29. Claims were approved in the amount of $81,435.41.
