G-R School Board By Madeline Mussig
The Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board held their regular monthly meeting on December 17, 2015 at 6:30 in the G-R Multi-Purpose Room. The meeting was called to order by Board President Josh Hemann, followed with an FFA presentation given by Alex Thede, Madeline Mussig, and Amber Greiman. Josh Hemann and Jason Strub gave an update on the 4 year old preschool options including HeadStart and QPPS. Anne Boyer presented an update from the dissolution committee; stating letters have been sent out to neighboring schools. After the committee receives replies, they will meet with schools that are interested. The agenda and consent agenda were approved after discussion regarding bills. There was no old business. In new business, the audit report has been finished and was approved by the board. Revisions to the school board policy were made and approved. There was discussion regarding a voluntary retirement incentive, but no further action has been taken. In the Superintendent’s Report, Windstream fixed the phone in the Gladbrook Pool. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M. The board’s next regular meeting will take place on January 21, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at the G-R Elementary.
