By Joyce Wiese Tama County Supervisors Larry Vest, Kendall Jordan and Dan Anderson met with Tama County Treasurer Monday morning, November 9, to discuss the abatement of taxes on county acquired property. In Spring Creek Township, (Gladbrook), four parcels of ground was acquired by the Tama County Engineer, Lyle Brehm, for a bridge project. County Treasurer Michelle Yuska asked that property taxes be abated on these four parcels (2014 taxes) in the amount of $371.00. Tama County Supervisors agreed to the abatement. Brehm also told supervisors they were doing patchwork south of Montour. Brehm says Cessford will be coming the middle of the month (next week) to do this work. Tami Wise, Human Relations, was present to discuss some problems she foresees in starting wages. This will be discussed with department heads and a solution is expect Claims in the amount of $429,119.69 were approved.
