Tama Co. Supervisors

By Joyce Wiese Recently the old County Home, more recently known as Pheasant Ridge, was a subject of discussion of Tama County Supervisors Monday morning. The building is now empty and the water turned off. At the present time no decision has been made as to what should be done with the building and grounds. It was suggested an advertisement should be published. One of the automobiles used by the Tama County Health Department was recently in an accident and needed to be replaced. Tami Wise from the CPC office told supervisors the Health Department was wanting to purchase a car available from the Case Management and CPC department. Supervisors agreed this could be done with no problems. County Engineer Lyle Brehm had two utility permits for approval, one from Central Iowa Water to do work in Spring Creek Township, and one from Interstate Power for work in Oneida Township. Brehm stated they were also doing some work on guard rail repairs. Brehm told of a box culvert that was bad in the northern part of Tama County and they would replace this with a steel pipe. The Tama County Recorder’s quarterly report was received and approved. T his shows 250 recording deeds, 189 real estate mortgages, 37 affidavits, 185 releases and assignments and 315 Misscellaneous documents, interest and non-standard fees for a total of $19,604.67. Also RVVRS license, in the amount of $766.25, Hunting and Fishing License writing fees, $202.00, real estate transfer stamps, $3148.76, auditors transfer fees, $1590.00, records management fees $971.00, Vital Statistics (marriage) fees $104.00, and Vital Statistic certified copies $681.00, for total fees collected of $27,067.78, and E-commerce fees $971.00, making the total remitted to the Tama County Treasurer of $28,038.78. Claims in the amount of $96,461.63 was approved for payment.
