Bowman and Miller, P.C. released audit report on City of Gladbrook

The City’s receipts totaled $2,001,222 for the year ended June 30, 2015, an 85.7 percent increase from 2014. The receipts included $296,588 in property tax, $ 60,272 in local option sales tax, $489,862 from charges for services, $149,841 from operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $572,122 from capital grants, contributions and restricted and restricted interest, $422 in unrestricted investment earnings, $400,000 in note proceeds and $14,386 form other general receipts. Disbursements for the year totaled $2,132,287 a 99.5 percent increase from the prior year, and included $956,781 for capital projects, $320,861 for debt service and $160,378 for public work. Also, disbursements for business type activities totaled $432,090. The significant increase in receipts is primarily due contributions and loan proceeds received for the construction of the new fire and ambulance building.
