On June 11, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board held a special meeting regarding lights at the football field. Joe Kapaun, from Kapaun Consulting Engineers, presented the board with information for new poles, installation, and details of the electrical plans. There was discussion of possibly using LED lights, although they are very expensive and normally do not pay for themselves. Construction is estimated to begin June 29 and will hopefully be completed by September 7. It will take two weeks to install the lights. It will be coordinated with the football schedule. The school board approved the proposed plans, specifications, and contract forms giving Mr. Kapaun the permission to continue the project. Estimated cost for the project is $135,000. The next regular school board meeting will take place on June 18 in Gladbrook.
