Tama County Relay For Life June 6
Participating in the Tama County Relay for Life has a direct impact on cancer patients and their families’ right here in your community. Last year alone there were 31 Tama County residents going through cancer treatment in Iowa City who were able to stay for free at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge there. That totaled over 1,142 free nights for those Tama county residents and their caretakers. What is the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge? It’s a place where cancer patients and their caregivers can find help and hope when home is far away. Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients 18 and older and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Currently, there are 31 Hope Lodge locations throughout the United States, each of them is free to use for patients and their caregivers-no matter where they are from. Hope Lodges are just a small piece of how your involvement in Relay for Life makes a difference, yet they make such a big impact on those who need them.
