Krier and Barritt honored at Scholastic Banquet By Margaret Thomsen
Kenna Krier and Olivia Barritt were honored among the top five percent of graduating seniors during the 46th Annual Scholastic Banquet hosted by the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce. Students honored were from East Marshall, GMG, Marshalltown and West Marshall High Schools. Lynn Olberding, Executive Director of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, welcomed, students, parents and school administrators. Keynote Speaker was Dan Becker, a MHS Graduate. GMG High School Principal Mark Polich was in attendance and stated, “We at GMG would like to thank the Marshalltown Chamber and Business Alliance for hosting this great event.” Kenna Krier will attend the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and major in Secondary English Education. She would like to return to one of the area schools and teach. She is the daughter of Keith and Angie Krier of Green Mountain. Olivia plans to attend Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls and major in Bio Technology. She has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the ECC Panthers. She would like to follow ECC graduation at University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point, with a major in Bio Chemistry. She is the daughter of Glen and Sheila Barritt of Marshalltown.
