Tama Co. Supervisors By: Joyce Wiese

Monday morning, April 6, the Tama County Board of Supervisors, Larry Vest, Kendall Jordan and Dan Anderson, met in regular session with County Engineer Lyle Brehm. Brehm discussed the Right-of-Way policy for the coming year. Each year the Engineer gathers information on prices and production and uses a formula for figuring the reimbursement price of using cropland for road work. Supervisors gave average prices and production on corn, beans, oats, hay and pasture, and Brehm will put this all together and present it for approval at the next meeting. A Resolution was passed unanimously allowing the fourteen day waiting period to be waived for the Gienger hog confinement building to be started. There was little discussion on the project and supervisors could see no reason to delay the building. “Years of Service Awards” for 2015 were presented. The awards went to the following. Five years for Lucas Dvorak in the Sheriff’s Department, Emily Babinat in CPC (Central Point of Coordination), Terry Purvis in the Secondary Road Department and Christine Kriegel in General Maintenance. Ten year awards went to Nickey Slagle in the Sheriff’s Department, Linda Rosenberger and Gina Hoskey, both in Public Health. Fifteen year awards went to Lyle Brehm and Curt Kriegel in the Secondary Roads department, Brenda Bridges in Public Health, Trevor Killian and Bruce Roads in the Sheriff’s Department, Ann Princehouse from the Treasurer’s Office, Michele Taylor from Emergency Management, Tamara Wise from CPC, and Craig Wise from Conservation. A Twenty Year Award went to Larry Vest for Board of Supervisor’s ISAC issures. Twenty five year Awards went to Randie Brodigan and Daniel Vesely, both in Secondary Roads. Thirty five year Awards were for Robert Etzel in Conservation and Ronald Green in Secondary Roads. Claims approved for paying for the past week came to $336,342.87.
