On March 23rd members of Cub Scout Pack 327 gathered for their annual Blue and Gold Banquet, an activity to celebrate the accomplishments of the cub scouts and recognize them for their rank advancement. Turnout by friends and family at the banquet was excellent, with approximately 100 people in attendance. The pack has had a total of 15 boys participating this year, 7 in the Tiger Den (1st Grade), 4 in the Wolf Den (2nd Grade), 3 in the Bear Den (3rd Grade) and one in the Webelos Den (4th and 5th Grade). Eleven of these boys have completed their rank advancement, and the remaining boys are working to complete their rank in the next 60 days. Those earning the Tiger rank were Jayden Beichley, Brayton Davis, Mason Fogt, Colton Hauser, and Drayson Stephenson. The Wolf rank was earned by Aidan Raffield, Hunter Roberts, and Aidan White. The Bear rank was presented to Landyn Brubaker and Andrew Westwater. Special recognition was given to Jonathan Westwater who earned the Arrow of Light award, the highest recognition in Cub Scouting. As part of the 2nd year Webelos program Jonathan has started participating with Boy Scout Troop 310 in Marshalltown, and members of that troop were present to conduct a bridging ceremony recognizing Jonathan’s formal transition from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts. Also recognized at the dinner were Amanda Hauser and Joe White who have done a wonderful job as den leaders with the Tiger and Wolf Dens, and Dan Raffield who has assisted with the Wolf Den. The pack wishes to express their gratitude to all those in the community who help support scouting.
