Keith and Shelley Smith of Gladbrook were winners in America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, which gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organization. Since 2010, with the help of farmers, America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, has invested over $19 million, to over 7,000 nonprofit organizations across rural America. The program offers farmers the chance to direct a $2,500 donation to their favorite community nonprofit organization, such as 4-H, FFA, food pantries, schools, fire departments and more. One winner is selected in each of the 1,324 counties in 40 states. America’s Farmers Grow Communities is part of a broad commitment by the Monsanto Fund to highlight the important contributions farmers make everyday to our society by helping them grow their local communities.
