As we anticipate the end of winter some time soon, the Gladbrook Corn Carnival Corporation has been hard at work planning for the 93rd Corn Carnival celebration to be held June 25-28, 2015. Our theme for this year will be, “Hooked on Carnival.” As with all events of this size, it takes a lot of volunteers and new ideas are always welcome. We continue to look for event chairpersons and volunteers to help make those events happen. We are asking for your volunteer help again this year. If you would like to get involved, please contact one of the board members listed at the end of this article. We would to have new people involved. The major event that we need help to fill right now is for someone to step up to take on the role of the Car Cruise Chairperson{s}. The past few years, the Cruise has been chaired by Dennis Barnes. He has done an excellent job of getting this organized. He has decided it is time to retire from this role and we need to fill his shoes. We have individually approached several community members whom we have thought to be possibilities with an interest in this event. So far we have not had any takers to chair this event. We are putting out a plea to see if we have someone come forward to help run this event this summer. We have tossed around the idea of just having a car rally instead of a cruise if we are unsuccessful in finding a chairperson.
