Before Judge Robert E. Sosalla in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Billy Wayne Fowler, 51, Traer, pleaded guilty to domestic abuse assault, 2nd offense. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $1,050 and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served. He was directed to pay for enrollment in and successfully complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. Fowler was originally cited on Nov. 21, 2014, by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker. Christina Chinahaw Hicks 24, Toledo, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of a prescription drug or device. She was fined and assessed court costs totaling $660. Hicks was originally charged on Ohio Street on Dec. 4, 2014 by Toledo Police. David Lee Miller, 20, Grinnell, admitted violation of terms of probation on an earlier drunken driving conviction. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for a day already served and is to pay court costs and court-appointed attorney fees to be determined. A probation violation report was filed May 15, 2014. Randy Ray Vanhorn, 48, Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and possession of a prescription drug or device without prescription. A deferred judgment was granted and he was directed to pay civil penalties and court costs totaling $1,116. He was also placed on self-supervised probation. Vanhorn was originally charged on Dec. 2, 2013, by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police with possession of a prescription drug, oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Keelan Cody Walker, 32, Tama, pleaded guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined and assessed court costs totaling $8,660. Walker was charged on Feb. 24, 2014, by Tama Police.

Travis Lee Downs, 27, , was found guilty of violation of a no contact or protective order. he was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served. A $65 fine was suspended with $217 court costs assessed. Downs was charged on Jan. 21 by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office.
