The Gladbrook Legion is proud to sponsor and welcome an energetic group of young men to their Legion Family. The SAL is an organization of direct descendants of veterans eligible to join the American Legion. The process of organizing started last summer when these men wanted a way to help their community and found the SAL organization a way to do that. Mark Lowry got the ball rolling and with 15 possible members were found, they did the paperwork to apply for a charter through the local Gladbrook Post, on to the Department of Iowa and then to the National organization. The charter was received in early December and plans were made to invite the Sal Department Commander to install the officers chosen to the January Legion meeting/soup supper.
