“Angel Tree” helps families in need this Christmas

The Angel Tree food boxes were packed on Fri., Dec. 19th. Helping pack the boxes were (l-r) Darrell Paustian, Jolene Denbow, Rev. Barb Muhs, and Richard Ellis. The coordinators for the area churches were Muhs and Ellis, Salem Church, June Klinefelter, gifts, and Patsy Rinz, food, Gladbrook UMC, Sue Koster & Karen Handorf, Chapel Church, Linda Randolph, Christ Lutheran Church, and Jolene Denbow and Jeanne Paustian, Peace Church. We can’t thank Alliant-Energy enough for their grant toward the Angel Tree Boxes. Also Genesis Development Discovery Program, Toledo, for the fantastic donation of toys for all ages. The families were excited, happy, and very appreicative when they picked up the presents for their children and their food box. The picture of the food tree made out of donated items from the Gladbrook Elementary was on the display when the families picked up their things. A big thank you to everyone and every organization that helped and donated in anyway. Jeanne Paustian was the over-all chairman of the project.
