Molly Butterfield

Molly Butterfield, age 89 of Johnston and formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center.

In death, Molly is reunited with her grandparents; parents, John and Elfrieda Kennedy; and her brother, David Kennedy. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cortland (Mary) Butterfield, Kathleen Stacey (Chuck Wood), and Shannen (Dara) Butterfield; grandchildren: Erin Christensen, Jacob Dent, Jon Butterfield, Aujolie Stacey, Joziah Stacey, Aiyana Stacey, Aaliyah Butterfield and Anya Butterfield; 13 great-grandchildren including her ‘honey buckets’, Davion, who spent a lot of his early years with his Grandma Molly; and her beloved Beagle, Toby.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation was held one hour prior to services. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorial donations may be directed to your local animal shelter.
