Marilyn Sue (Pfalzgraf) Hulme

Marilyn Sue (Pfalzgraf) Hulme, 72, of Traer, was surrounded by her family at the farm, when she was taken home to see the Lord, on Tuesday May 24, 2022.

She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on February 14th, 1950, on Valentine’s Day, to Marie (Scott) and Allen Pfalzgraf.

On August 14th, 1987, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Red “Jerry” Hulme. They have been married 35 years. They enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and playing cards with friends. Marilyn and Red live and farm near Dinsdale.

Marilyn received her education at Marshalltown Community College and Upper Iowa University where she earned her BA in Human Services and Public Administration. She was employed at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown and retired from there in 2010. Marilyn also worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Pathways in Waterloo for 3 years.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Red “Jerry” Hulme; 3 daughters: Tracy (Jeff) Nickel, Misty Weida, Brandy Cooper; her only son, Jason Weida, all of Traer; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is the sister of Tom (Candace) Pfalzgraf, of Manchester Iowa, Tim (Sue) Pfalzgraf, Steve Pfalzgraf and JoAnn (Bob) Davies, of Waterloo, Iowa, and had many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was proceeded in death by her parents, Marie and Allen Pfalzgraf; a sister, Karen Lamson; son in law, Jeff Nickel; grandson, Alex Nickel and nephew, Tommy Burns.

At Marilyn’s request, there will a private family visitation and service on Friday, May 27th, 2022. Thank you for honoring her wishes.
