Gail Siefken

Gail Ann Siefken, 82, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022 at Sunny View Care Center under the care of Sunny Crest Hospice in Ankeny, Iowa.

Gail Ann (Evans) Siefken was born March 20, 1939 in Waterloo Iowa. The daughter of William Bernard Evans and Velda Mae (Brown) Evans. Gail was united in marriage on August 7, 1955 to Marlin Simon Siefken. They resided most of their lives in Reinbeck Iowa where they raised their four daughters; Robin, Darlene, Lanette and Gloria.

Gail was a wife to Marlin for 62 years, a wonderful mother, foster mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Christian woman who served her Savior with all of her heart. She was always proud of her family and loved to talk about them. Gail was a fun loving spirited woman whose door was always open and the welcome mat out for anyone who would grace her home. Gail was never short of smiles, hugs and kisses. She had a zest for life enjoying gardening, tending to her flowers, camping and was an avid seamstress. Gail worked in retail sales most of her life, which included health products, furniture, automobiles and retail merchandise.

Gail is survived by her loving daughters Darlene (Glenn) Lanphier of Newton Iowa, Lanette (Russ) Frost of Clive Iowa, and Gloria (Tom) Miller of Huntley Illinois, Son-in-Law Harold Whitman of Belton, MO, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marlin, daughter Robin Whitman, and Sister Sharon Evans.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Sherwood Forest Events Center, 7400 Hickman Rd., Windsor Heights, Iowa from 2 to 4 PM.
