Ph. 641-844-1234. Gary was born on August 24th, 1943, the son of Fritz and Florence Boldt, at Toledo, IA. He attended the Garwin Public Schools, graduating in 1963. After graduating, Gary began farming and ended up on a farm east of Gladbrook. On August 4th, 1973, at the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, he was united in marriage to Suzanne McKibben. They were blessed with three children. In 1975, they moved to a farm southwest of Traer. In 1999, they moved to Gladbrook when his health required he retire from farming. In Gladbrook, he loved moving snow with his John Deere 3010. The tractor was always parked in the driveway and served as a landmark. In the summer, he mowed lawns and mowing Conant’s Cabin roadside park was his pride and joy. Mowing gave him time to relax and enjoy the nature he loved so much. He also enjoyed going to auctions (farm and household), going to watch livestock, and solving the world’s problems with friends at the Man Cave in Gladbrook. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren that he loved so much. During his farming years, he also sold Jacques Seed Corn and Archer Oil. He was active in the Gladbrook JC’s and Tama County Pork Producers and served as membership chairman for several years. He also enjoyed grilling with the pork producers and traveling on pork promotions. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons- Mark (Rose) of Ankeny and David “Spanky” (Mandy) of Traer; grandsons Clayton and Lane and granddaughter McKenna (fiancée Tyler Ward); brother Fred (Clara) Boldt and sister Linda (Ron) Beenken as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and the McKibben family. He was preceded in death by his daughter Amy who passed in 2013, his parents, siblings-Bernice, Delmar, Glenn, Lester, Loraine and William and his in-laws Clifford and Joan McKibben.
