Gary Ray Rickert

Gary Ray Rickert, son of Herman and Ella Karlsen Rickert passed away peacefully at home Tuesday morning February 2, 2016 surrounded by his family. Gary was a member of the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge, proud member of Local Union 838 and an employee of John Deere Tractor Works for 33 years, beginning in the foundry and retiring from the Product Engineering Center.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Margaret (McClellan); daughters Stacy (Mike) Fogt of Reinbeck and Stephanie (Dennis) Carson of Union; sons Colonel Timothy (Denise, “Coop”) of Johnston and Todd (Alesia) of Reinbeck. These 4 children blessed him with 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, as well as, a 14th great grandchild due in March. He is also survived by two brothers, Gerald (Mary Edith) of Des Moines and Dale of Wapello.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, sisters Florence and Mildred (Ralph), brothers Orville (Ferne, Mona), William (May, Harriet), James (Kathryn) and sister-in-law Esther (Dale).

Memorials may be directed to the family; Gary had many areas of interest and charities he supported.
