Obituary-Elger James Hansen
Elger James Hansen passed away on December 31, 2015 at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, Iowa. There will be a memorial service on January 9th, 2016 at Peace United Church in Gladbrook, Iowa at 10 a.m. with Pastor Doner officiating. Elger was born on March 10th, 1936, the son of Karl and Helen Schroeder Hansen. Left to cherish his memory is wife, Peggy, a brother Duane (Anne) of Lincoln, California, five sons: Brian (Sherry) of Louisiana, Kevin of Louisiana, Bradley (Collene) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Chris (Cathy) of What Cheer, Iowa, Nick (Samara) of Colfax, Iowa and a daughter, Kari. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karlene, and a daughter Andrea. Elger graduated from Gladbrook in 1954 and lived in Iowa most of his life with a few years living in Billings, Montana. Elger enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Elger had 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Before retiring, Elger worked for McPeak Trenching for 13 years in LuVerne, Iowa. He will be forever in our memories and greatly missed. Memorial contributions and flowers may be left with the church or family.
