Charlotte B. Gethmann, 92, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook, IA. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church in Gladbrook. Private family interment will take place at a later date. The Gladbrook Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, 310 E. Gethmann, daughter of Ernest and Hazel (Agan) Busick was born May 18, 1923 at Radcliffe, Iowa. She graduated from Radcliffe High School with the class of 1943. After high school she went to college and earned her Nursing Degree. She was married to Robert Gethmann on March 6, 1966 at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. She lived her entire life in Gladbrook, including living on the family’s century farm. Charlotte worked for a few years as a nurse in Marshalltown before becoming a Nursing Instructor at the Evangelical School of Nursing in Marshalltown. She was a member of the Gladbrook United Methodist Church where she was also a part of the United Methodist Women. She also belonged to the Nurses Association and was also in the Cadet Nursing Corps. Charlotte is survived by her step-son, Doug Gethmann of Gladbrook, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and step-daughter Linda.
