Nancy A. Cook, 88, of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, October 20, 2015, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Dearborn, Michigan. Interment took place at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Michigan Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gladbrook Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com. Nancy was born September 15, 1927, to Henry Edmond and Iona (Forsyth) Macomber, in Wyandotte, Michigan. She graduated from High School and attended Michigan State University, graduating with her B.A. in Home Economics. Nancy was united in marriage to Henry E. Cook on October 20, 1951 in Michigan, to this union one child was born, Barbara. The family lived in various communities, settling in Port Huron, Michigan. After Henry passed Nancy moved to Gladbrook to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Nancy was a homemaker and held part time positions at local gift shops. Nancy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Port Huron and in the Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, needle work, knitting and serving her church in various positions. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Barb (Dennis) Modlin of Gladbrook; sister, Priscilla (Ted) Daykin of Dearborn, MI; step grandchildren, Megan (Joshua) Johnson of Muscatine, IA and Matt Modlin of Waterloo, IA, and step great granddaughter Ava Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry.
