Randall Dale Pierce, age 67

Randall Dale Pierce, age 67 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Historical Museum or the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfneralhomes.com. The son of Park and Norma (McKeever) Pierce, Randy was born on March 25, 1948, in Des Moines. He attended Northeast Missouri State University on a football scholarship. On October 11 1969, he married Linda Sass. On March 30, 2008, he married Brenda Weirick. Randy worked as a supervisor at Maytag until his retirement in 2006. He then worked at the Monroe Table Company in Colfax and farmed. Randy loved to hunt and fish. He even raised champion English Setters. His most enjoyable thing to do, however, was to watch his grandchildren’s events. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Brenda of Colfax; two sons, Chad (Tammi) Pierce and Tim (Heather) Pierce both of Gladbrook; step children, Jordan (David) Everett of Batavia, Ohio, Bradley Smith of Columbia, Missouri, George Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Alyson Williamson of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Zach, Tyler, and Arianna; and a brother, Ron (Michelle) Pierce of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Eric and a sister, Roxann.
